1. Scallopers Ball

Celebrate the start of this year’s Scalloping season with the annual Scallopers Ball! Attendees can expect plenty of activities including silent auctions, live music, and (of course) loads of delicious seafood provided by local fisheries. 2. Film for Thought – Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice
Friday, September 27
8:00 pm @ Nantucket Dreamland

Get an up close and personal look at the life of one of the most successful and versatile female singers of our time. This film follows the musical journey of Ronstadt, including her exploration into classical opera and country music following a wildly successful pop music career. Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie, Raitt, Jackson Browne, and Aaron Neville are just some of the featured artists in the film who discuss Ronstadt’s impact on music. 3. Saturdays in September: Baking Class for Adults

4. 2nd Annual 5K Run for Recovery
Sunday, September 29
9:00 am – 12:00 pm @ Bartlett’s Farm

Stretch those legs for a great cause this Sunday. Last year’s first annual run raised over $25,000 for Addiction Solutions of Nantucket with 200 runners and walkers taking part – let’s beat those numbers this year! 5. Book Signing with Kenneth Blackshaw

1:30 – 3:00 pm @ Mitchell’s Book Corner

Birders, rejoice: you won’t be needing your binoculars for this sighting! Kenneth Blackshaw will be on hand this weekend to sign copies of his 38-year collaborative project with Edith F. Andrews titled Birding Nantucket, now in its eighth edition. This comprehensive guide to birding on the island describes Nantucket’s different ecological zones and what time of year is best to find each kind of bird. 6. Manhattan Short Film Festival

10. Cheers to Charities: Fall French Selections Benefitting Nantucket Wheelers
Thursday, October 3
5:00 – 7:00 pm @ Epernay Wine & Spirits

Welcome a new season at this tasting of Fall French Selections with Carl McCoy of fine wine importer Frederick Wildman & Sons. Ten percent of sales during the event will be donated to Epernay’s non-profit partner Nantucket Wheelers, an innovative wheelchair biking program designed to reconnect Nantucket’s elderly with the great outdoors.
