1. Touch-A-Boat with Nantucket Boat Basin
Saturday, June 8

Celebrate Massachusetts Kids Boating and Fishing Week by exploring boats, catching fish, and playing other fun games! This event is free, open to children of all ages, and emphasizes the importance of safety when children are on the water. For more information, click here.

 

2. 26th Annual Dreamcatcher Dinner and Auction
Sunday, June 9
6:00 – 10:00 pm @ the Nantucket Yacht Club

Dine and dance for a good cause with hors d’oeuvres, a raw bar, and a sip & bid auction party. All proceeds will go to the Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket Foundation. This event is such a dream that tickets usually sell out! For more information and to catch your ticket, click here.

 

3. WE CAN Book Club
Monday, June 10
6:30 pm @ Mitchell’s Book Corner (Upstairs)

Show off your girl power with Melissa Murphy and Jen Cohen at Mitchell’s Corner! WE CAN is giving away ten copies of Elaine Weiss’s book The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote if you comment on their Facebook page. 4. Plein Air Paint Out
Wednesday, June 12
10:00 am – 4:00 pm @ Brant Point

Don’t be a Plein Jane, head out to Brant Point and experience the island with an artist’s eye! This group painting session is open to the public and will have “en plein air” demonstrators around the lighthouse and beach. 5. Nantucket Book Festival Kick-Off Party
Wednesday, June 12
6:00 – 8:00 pm @ Nantucket Whaling Museum

Read it and leap – this event will open up one of our favorite festivals of the year. Meet famous authors and participate in raffles while enjoying light bites from Eight Arm Chef Services. We know that this party will be a best-seller! For more information, click here.

 

6. Orchid Terrarium-Making Workshop
Wednesday, June 12
10:00 am – 12:00 pm + 4:00 – 6:00 pm @ Rockfarm Garden

Join Meg DuPont at Rockfarm Garden to learn how to create a beautiful Orchid Terrarium! Participants will be required to bring in a large glass vessel to create the terrarium and will have the option of a morning or afternoon class. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.

 

7. NBF: Nat Philbrick with Mindy Todd
Thursday, June 13
1:30 – 2:15 pm @ the Quaker Meeting House

Longtime Nantucket resident Nathaniel Philbrick will take the Meeting House by storm when he sits down for a conversation with producer and host of WCAI’s The Point Mindy Todd. The beloved Nantucket author will be discussing his latest book In The Hurricane’s Eye: The Genius of George Washington and the Victory at Yorktown. For more information, click here

 

8. NantucketGrown Dinner
Thursday, June 13
6:00 pm @ Proprietor’s Bar and Table

Support local fishermen, growers, harvesters, and chefs while enjoying a meal made up entirely of food grown on island. This farm-to-table meal will benefit Sustainable Nantucket, which works to increase locally produced food on Nantucket. 9. “Julie and Julia” Cooking Demo with Kathleen Sanderson of Natirar Cooking School

6:30 – 9:00 pm @ Nantucket Culinary Center
