1. 3rd Annual Trails and Treats

Friday, October 26
3:00 – 4:00 pm @ Linda Loring Nature Foundation, 110 Eel Point Rd

Kick off (pre) Halloween weekend with a Nantucket family favorite! Hosted by the Linda Loring Nature Foundation, this fun event will take place on their nature trail, where attendees can earn treats for participation. Stations will be set up with fall and Halloween-themed nature activities for children grades pre-k through 5th. Costumes are welcome but not required, and parents should stick around to join in the fun. For more information, click here


2. Halloween Book Signing: Blue

Saturday, October 27
10:30 am – 12:00 pm @ Mitchell’s Book Corner

Author Blue Balliett (Out of the Wild Night, The Ghosts of Nantucket: 23 True Accounts) will be at Mitchell’s Book Corner Saturday morning to sign her spooktacular reads! Known for her imaginative ‘boo’-ks for young readers, Balliett is an accomplished writer who lived on island year-round with her family for many years. For more information, click here

 

3. A reading of the new play Anna Karenina
Saturday, October 27
7:30 pm @ White Heron Theatre

Join White Heron Theatre for the first staged reading of Anna Karenina, a hilarious and heartbreaking new play adapted for the stage by Gwen Kingston. In a thrillingly fresh take on the old classic, the female characters band together to push Tolstoy out of the driver’s’ seat and take charge of their own narrative. Original music punctuates the story, spanning the distance between past and present. 4. Halloween Bash
Saturday, October 27
10:00 pm – 1:00 am @ The Chicken Box

Dress to impress in your Halloween best and then get ready to do the Monster Mash at the Chicken Box Halloween Bash! Local favorite Juice will be playing, and we suggest you get there early for a good spot. (If you’re a super devoted fan of the beloved Box, we have a great costume idea for you here.) 5. Nantucket Hospitality + Aperol Run Towards a Cure
Sunday, October 28
10:00 am @ Children’s Beach + Proprietor’s Bar & Table

Run for fun AND a good cause this Sunday. Aperol is teaming up with Jane Stoddard of Cru to help raise funds for her NYC Marathon to support Alzheimer’s research. Unlike your average 5k, this “waiter’s run” will ask teams to dodge obstacles carrying a tray with glasses of water. The team to keep the most amount of water in their glasses will win a prize! After the run, head to Proprietor’s for brunch and spritzes – Aperol will be donating $1 for every Spritz sold to the Alzheimer’s Association. To sign up and find more information, click here

 

6. Annual Halloween Parade 
Wednesday, October 31
4:30 pm @ Main Street

Whether you’re planning on being a superhero or just a super enthusiastic spectator, head on down to Main Street for the Annual Halloween Parade this Wednesday. Locals young and old will be flaunting their face paint and displaying their disguises. There will also be a costume contest and plenty of candy, so come hungry! For more information, click here

 

7. Haunted House Party at the Muse

9:00 pm – 1:00 am @ The Muse

It’s going to be a scary amount of fun at the Muse’s Halloween Haunted House Party. Get creative and competitive with your costume, because there will be a cash grand prize for the best getup!  DJ Ghost will be spinning a mix of old and new school dance tunes to get you groovin, spookin, and in the happy Halloween mood. 8. Food for Thought: Steve Caulfield

If you love all things nautical, this event is for you. 9. NMC Student Recital Series
