Benefitting Autism Speaks, Foundation Fighting Blindness, Asperger/Autism Network and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, players from all over the country will take the ice on island for the 12th annual Cranberry Cup. 4. NHA Harvest Festival
Saturday, October 17 || 12 – 3 P.M. || Old Mill

Enjoy a day celebrating the history of Nantucket harvests with our good friends at the Nantucket Historical Association. Head up to the Old Mill for games, crafts, and fall refreshments… And while you’re there, take a tour of the oldest functioning mill in the country!

Bartlett’s Garden Center manager, Liz de Souza, is ready to show you the ropes when it comes to fall gardening. Swing by the Farm for an overview of fall gardening including perennial division, pruning, bulb planting and planning for spring. While you’re there, grab a free cup of coffee and donut, and enjoy 10% off your plants!

Sunday, October 18 || 7 P.M. || Whaling Museum

Join the NHA and the Nantucket Atheneum for a staged reading of excerpts from Owen Chase and Thomas Nickerson’s narratives of the Essex disaster, the Nantucket whaleship that was stove by a whale in the Pacific Ocean in 1820 and is the storyline for the upcoming “In the Heart of the Sea” feature film based on local author Nat Philbrick’s book. The evening will feature sea chanteys, popular songs of the era, and Herman Melville poems set to music by singer-songwriter Joe Flood. Get your tickets here!
