Looking for an open-minded and thoughtful group of people to discuss books with on island? You’ve found it. The “Critical Thinkers Book Club” will be gathering to discuss the first half of their current pick, “Fun House,” which is a graphic memoir by cult favorite comic artist Alison Bechdel.

4. “Wayne from Maine” Children’s Performance
Saturday, January 9, 5:30 P.M., Great Harbor Yacht Club
Coming all the way from Kittery, Maine, “Wayne from Maine” will be on island for a special interactive children’s performance organized as a benefit concert for local Nantucket organizations. Bring the kids out for an evening of song and dance! Suggested donation at the door.
5. “American Ride” Country Music Tribute Concert
Saturday, January 9, 7:30 P.M., Great Harbor Yacht Club
Get your live music fix at the “American Ride” Country Music Tribute Concert hosted by the GHYC. Suggested donation at the door will go to support local island nonprofits, and note that this is a 21+ event.
6. Flashback Film Series: “The Goonies”
Monday, January 11, 6 P.M. Pre-party @ Handlebar Café, 7:30 P.M. Film @ The Dreamland

10. Bolshoi Ballet: “The Taming of the Shrew”
