1. Think Different Film Series: Ido Portal – Just Move

Make moves this Friday night to go see Just Move, a documentary about fitness revolutionary Ido Portal. He started training in martial arts and Capoeira as a teen and has gone on to develop a new kind of fitness craze called the Movement Culture. 2. “Cooking from the Book” with Chef Greg

6:30 – 9:30 pm @ The Nantucket Culinary Center

Join Chef Greg for a night of Persian cuisine that is sure to tickle your tastebuds. He’ll be putting his own spin on a few recipes from the cookbook “A Taste of Persia” by Naomi Duguid. Travel to destinations like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Kurdistan, all without leaving the table. 3. Nantucket New School Harvest Bash

Get ready to boogie and bid for charity at the Nantucket New School’s Harvest Bash! Dress in your 70’s disco finest and head down to GHYC for a night of dinner, dancing, and live music by 3rd Bay Project. 4. 5K Run for Robin 
Sunday, November 4
10:00 am @ VFW Post 8608

Stretch your legs and prep your pump-up playlist for the Harvey Foundations 4th Annual Run for Robin. This fundraiser is in honor of Robin Harvey, who was tragically struck by a car and killed while training for the Boston Marathon. To honor her, this race pays tribute to her beautiful life and raises money for the foundation, which has given over $55,000 in scholarship money in the past 4 years. 5. Midterm Elections
Tuesday, November 6
7:00 am – 8:00 pm @ Nantucket High School

This election has been called the most important election of our lives, and the results will have an impact even on our little island 30 miles out to sea. 6. Pool Tournament
Wednesday, November 7
7:30 pm @ The Chicken Box

This is the one place on island where a shark is welcome – a pool shark, that is. Chalk up your cue, practice your bank shot, and get ready to rack up the points. This exciting double elimination tournament happens every Wednesday in the off-season, and there are both cash and end-of-season prizes. 7. Food for Thought Lecture – Walking Past Fear: A 33-Day, 518-Mile Pilgrimage Through Spain
Thursday, November 8

Need to get away, or at least out of your head in all this election craziness? Journey through Spain’s many cultural wonders with writer Rebecca Chapa. 8. Ladies Night at Bartlett’s Farm
