2. A Christmas Carol Opening Night

Charles Dickens’ classic novella hits the stage – with music! – this Friday as Theatre Workshop of Nantucket ushers in the holiday season. 3. “Unacceptable Levels” Documentary Film Screening
Friday, November 20 || 7 P.M. || The Atheneum

Presented by Glen Weimer as part of the “Think Different” film series, “Unacceptable Levels” is filmmaker Ed Brown’s examination of the chemical revolution of the 1940s and how it brought us to where we are (and of where it may take us if we’re not vigilant). 5. Annual Yard Sale to Benefit Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum
Saturday, November 21, 10 – 3 P.M. & Sunday, November 22, 11 – 2 P.M. || Bartlett’s Farm

Two words. Treasure. Hunt. This weekend, Bartlett’s Farm will turn their Garden Center into a HUGE yard sale benefitting the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum. Furniture, clothes, housewares, art…there’s something for everyone! Admission is free (early bird 9am entry for $10).

6. “Go for a Ride” Day
Sunday, November 22

What’s better than a Sunday spent outdoors? It’s “Go for a Ride” Day and there’s nowhere we’d rather be than Nantucket. Grab your bike and head to one of the island’s many bike paths for an afternoon of adventure!

7. Festival of Wreaths Preview Party
Tuesday, November 24 || 5 – 7 P.M. || The Whaling Museum

Once again the Nantucket Whaling Museum’s Candle Factory will be adorned with eighty spectacular wreaths for a silent auction. We know you won’t want to miss the festive preview party, but should you be unable to attend, don’t fret. These wreaths will be on display until November 29th. 8. Birding Field Trip
Wednesday, November 25 || 7:50 A.M. || 110 Eel Point Road

Renowned birder, and subject of this month’s N Magazine story “Fight & Flight,” Vern Laux will be leading a morning birding field trip through the Linda Loring Nature Foundation. Vern knows all the island hotspots and loves to share his endless knowledge of the numerous species that call our little island home. This event is free for LLNF members and $10 for non-members.

9. Annual Turkey Plunge
Thursday, November 26 || 10 A.M. || Children’s Beach

There’s no better way to kick off the holiday season than stripping down and jumping into the frigid waters along Children’s Beach. Past Plunges have seen some famous participants as Vice President Joe Biden. More importantly, the Turkey Plunge benefits the Atheneum’s Weezie Library for Children.

10. Thanksgiving Feast at The Nantucket Hotel
Thursday, November 26 || 2 – 6:30 P.M. || The Nantucket Hotel
