3. Open Day at Sankaty Head Lighthouse

11:00 am – 2:00 pm @ Sankaty Head Lighthouse

For one day only this fall, the ‘Sconset Trust will be opening Sankaty Head Lighthouse for tours. Be prepared to climb to the top and see a whole different view of Nantucket’s eastern landscape. 4. Cranberry Festival

Join the 15th Annual Cranberry Festival to experience a fall day full of fun. Guests will be able to see how cranberries are harvested, learn about the history of cranberry farming, and participate in family activities. 5. Nantucket Shorts Festival

The annual Nantucket Shorts Festival is here once again, bringing together experienced and amateur filmmakers to show their work. Hosted by actor and director John Shea, the festival sheds light on new talent and highlights our community here on Nantucket. 6. Nantucket Half Marathon

8:00 am @ Nantucket Lighthouse School

Runners, tie those laces and stretch those legs, because the Nantucket Half Marathon is this weekend! The 8th annual 13. 1 mile race has become a fall favorite, and covers much of our beautiful island. The race will make a full loop and will start and end at the Nantucket Lighthouse School. 7. Wet Paint/Fresh Works AAN Benefit Auction & Dinner
Sunday, October 7
3:00 pm Silent & Live Auction Preview, 5:00 pm Live Auction, 6:30 pm Benefit Dinner @ Nantucket Yacht Club

This exciting, one-day event features works created by local artists in the days leading up to the auction – meaning the paintings are literally wet and fresh! AAN will host the three-part evening, beginning with a preview of the silent and live auction items, followed immediately by the live auction, and then finally a delicious dinner prepared by Nantucket Yacht Club. 8. CRU’s Columbus Day Studio 54 Brunch
Monday, October 8
11:00 am – 4:00 pm @ CRU Restaurant

CRU is putting the Studio 54 in the 02554 for their closing brunch this Columbus Day. 10. Nantucket Community Dinner

All are invited to participate in this month’s Nantucket Community Dinner, sponsored by Spiritual Heritage Nantucket. This free, 3-course meal happens every 2nd Tuesday of the month, and invites the community to share a meal, conversation, and a few laughs with your neighbors.
