8. Winter Discovery Days Extended Hours
Monday, February 22 – Friday, February 26, 1 – 5 P.M., Whaling Museum Discovery Room

Need a place to take the kids during school vacation? The NHA’s Winter Discovery Days program will be extending it’s hours to 1 – 5 P.M., so swing by the Whaling Museum for a free afternoon of crafts, games, stories and more. Tickets not required, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, February 25, 12 – 1 P.M., Whaling Museum

Join the NHA’s new Oral History Fellow Jacob Horton as he profiles collectors of oral history on Nantucket during the 20th century and provides details on the NHA’s latest initiative, the Volunteer Oral History Club. Horton began as the NHA’s first Oral History intern in September 2014. During that time, his main focus was collecting interviews with first-generation immigrants who had made Nantucket their home. He holds a Master of Arts in Oral History from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from UCLA.
