1. Novels, Nibbles & Nosh
Friday, December 18, 3 – 5 P.M., Atheneum

One of the island’s most beautiful buildings, the Nantucket Atheneum, will be opening its doors for an afternoon of “Novels, Nibbles & Nosh,” so head over to browse their extensive book and film collection while enjoying a cup of tea and a holiday treat! Between the ages of 12 and 18? Sign up for the Ugly Christmas Sweater Decoration Party happening at the same time (all tools and materials – including sweaters – will be provided).

2. Foggy Roots
Friday, December 18, 4:30 – 7 P.M., Cisco Brewers

It may be December, but reggae music is always in season. Swing by Cisco Brewers after work and celebrate the arrival of the weekend with local reggae band Foggy Roots and a cold beer!

3. “Year of the Bell”
Friday, December 18, 6:30 P.M., Unitarian Universalist Meeting House

Join the Unitarian Universalists for a performance of Ted Anderson’s play, “Year of the Bell,” with hors d’oeuvres to follow. Arrive on time, because prior to show time they will be raffling off 10 spots to climb the tower stairs for a ringing of the bells in honor of the 200th anniversary.

4. Annual Nantucket Christmas Pageant
Saturday, December 19, 4 P.M., Dreamland Theater

The Nantucket Pageant Players will take the stage of the Dreamland for the 42nd annual Nantucket Christmas Pageant, so follow the star and head on over and get in the holiday spirit! The event is free, but tickets are required and can be reserved here.

5. Closing Day SALE-a-bration
Sunday, December 20, Until Close, Bartlett’s Farm

Our favorite farm is closing up shop for the holidays, so be sure to get your provisions while you still can! Stop by Bartlett’s Farm where everything will be on sale in celebration of their last day open in 2015. PLUS, photo opportunities with Santa himself will be going on from 12 to 2, along with kids crafts and festive drinks.

6. Bolshoi Ballet: The Nutcracker
Sunday, December 20, 1 P.M., The Dreamland

Watch Marie and the Nutcracker battle the Mouse King and his army in the Bolshoi’s performance of a holiday classic, “The Nutcracker.” Tchaikovsky’s timeless score will surely have you dreaming of sugarplum fairies right up until Christmas day! Buy your tickets here.

7. Rib Night
Tuesday, December 22, 5:30 – 9 P.M., Atlas BBQ & Fish House

Dry rubbed, slow smoked, and made fresh from scratch day-of, Atlas will have you feeling like you’re in Memphis or Kansas City, and not our little island out to sea. So grab a seat by the fire and don’t be afraid to get a little messy!

8. Red Ticket Drawing
Thursday, December 24, 3 P.M., Top of Main Street

All that local shopping will pay off for 6 lucky winners, and just in time for Christmas! Head to the top of Main Street with your red tickets and see who will be taking home the five $1000 and one $5000 prizes. May the odds be ever in your favor.

9. Christmas Caroling
Thursday, December 24, 4 – 6 P.M., Unitarian Universalist Meeting House

Gather at the UU Meeting House directly following the annual Red Ticket Drawing, and help spread the holiday cheer around the island to those young and old. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the voice of an angel, all that matters is your enthusiasm!

Friday, December 25, 4:30 – 8:30 P.M., The Nantucket Hotel Breeze Restaurant

After a long day of gift giving and receiving, entertaining family, and reveling in the holiday spirit, why not take the night off from cooking and head to The Nantucket Hotel for their special (and festive) prix fixe Christmas meal in their stunning Grand Ballroom? Mollie Glazer will be entertaining diners on the piano from 5:30 – 8:30 and children under age 5 eat free. Make your reservations now!
