3. Ann Martindale and Ricard Busch

Enjoy a night of mellow American jazz and popular standards with Ann Martindale and Richard Busch, a 10-year performance duo that will transport you back to “nightclub days when Bogie and Bacall were all that was cool.” Richard, an accomplished composer, pianist and Juilliard graduate, and Ann, a soloist that has performed across New England, will give you an intimate night to kick off Labor Day weekend. 4. Book Signing with Steven Axelrod

It’s no mystery why Nantucket author Steven Axelrod’s books are so popular – his gripping mysteries are page-turners, and are set right here on island! Grab a pen and come out to meet him at his book signing for Nantucket Sawbuck, a story about a Nantucket homeowner living beyond his means, until his untimely death in his McMansion. 5. MET Live: Il Trovatore

Watch Soprano Anna Netrobko’s vocal skills on full display in her newest roll as Leonora from the Met Opera Il Trovatore. 6. Diana Cesaria Fine Jewelry Trunk Show

As a fierce advocate for the awareness of tick-borne diseases on island, Dr. Timothy Lepore is going to bring a plethora of knowledge to the table at the next Science Speaker Series at the Maria Mitchell Association. Dr. Lepore has been treating and caring or the Nantucket community for the past 35 years; he plans to discuss the symptoms, treatments and ways to avoid these ever-prevalent diseases on island.
