2. NCMC Pocket Park Series Concert: Yellowred

Swing down to Old South Wharf and enjoy music by Yellowred while you peruse the shell-lined lane’s many boutiques and shops. The Pocket Park Series is a free concert series put on by the Nantucket Community Music Center and is the perfect excuse to come together and appreciate the musical talent right here on the island!
3. TWN Staged Reading: Wait Until Dark

7 P.M. @ Centre Stage
As part of Theatre Workshop of Nantucket’s “6 for 60” series – readings of a play from each decade to celebrate TWN’s 60th anniversary this year – don’t miss your change to catch “Wait Until Dark”, a story about three con men, a husband and wife, and young girl who become entangled in a criminal charade. 4. Swim Across America

8 A.M. @ Jetties Beach
Hundreds of swimmers will gather at Jetties Beach to participate in open water swims to support oncology services on Nantucket. Swimmers of all levels and ages are invited to participate. Learn more here.
5. Teddy Bear Picnic

3 – 4 P.M. @ Atheneum Garden
Grab your little ones, their fuzzy friends, a blanket and some snacks and head over to the Atheneum for a teddy bear picnic in the garden! Lemonade and cupcakes will be provided, just come ready for a sing-a-long, a parade, and fun photos.
6. Après Beach Party

5 – 7 P.M. @ Jetties Beach
Join the Friends of Nantucket Cottage Hospital for an après beach party to benefit NCH and celebrate the end of summer! Kick off your shoes and enjoy drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres before you head to town for some fun on this last Saturday of August. Tickets are $100 and are available here.
7. Let’s Dance, Nantucket!

9. Author Talk: Boston Baseball

8 P.M. @ The Atheneum
Boston Globe sports columnist Dan Shaughnessy and editor Stan Grossfeld will be on island to discuss New England baseball and their 1999 book “Fenway: A Biography in Words and Pictures.” Admission is free and this event is a home run!
