NEW YEAR’S EVE FASHION

Written By: Emily Ott Hollister | Photography By: Emme Duncan

We checked in with N Magazine resident lifestyle expert, Emily Ott Hollister, proprietress of Milly & Grace and our very own “Emily’s Post” columnist, to get her take on the hottest trends for NYE 2015. So whether you’re hosting an intimate dinner party, cozying up with your significant other for some wine and movies, or heading to The Nantucket Hotel’s annual gala, Emily’s got you covered!

Emily says, “Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to ring in 2016. But don’t fret, there is still time to get the perfect New Year’s Eve outfit. I’ve pulled together a few Milly & Grace looks to help you get inspired. The best part is that they are ALL 50% off!”

GALA / BALL

Invited to a fancy gala this year and can’t decide what to wear? Well, New Year’s Eve is the one night of the year that you can never be overdressed. Splurge on that fun piece that you’ve had your eye on but said… “I have nowhere to wear this!” Now is your chance to go all out. Count down to the New Year feeling fab in this show stopping Parker sequin dress (was $498, now $249). It is perfect for dancing the night away!

DINNER & DRINKS ON THE TOWN

No set plans except to head to town for dinner and drinks? Be prepared and wear something comfortable and festive and see where the night takes you. I would suggest some of our black Blank Denim jeans (was $78, now $39) and this fun Love Shack Fancy star top (was $245, now $122.50). It’s the perfect pairing for hitting up the hottest restaurants & bars!

HOUSE DINNER PARTY

There is something extra special about toasting the New Year with your nearest and dearest family and friends with a dinner party at home. Since it is a party, this is your chance to dress to the nines! You can never go wrong with a black lace dress – like this one from Joie (was $298, now $149). Throw on this metallic ruana to add a little sparkle and to keep your shoulders warm (was $278, now $139).

CASUAL COUCH NIGHT

After a busy holiday season, sometimes the best New Year’s Eve is spent on the couch watching the ball drop with some champagne and homemade mac & cheese. Even though you might only be spending it with your significant other, there is no reason why you shouldn’t look and feel your best. I personally love this cute & comfortable Soft Joie leisure outfit (sweatshirt was $148, now $74 / pants were $132, now $66). Both pieces look great together, but can also be mixed and matched with other staple pieces in your wardrobe. It is perfect for a low key evening of cooking and getting cozy!

And spice up any outfit with some serious NYE BLING
