2. AAN Reception: Inside Art

From still life images to building interiors, it’s the inside story that counts at this Friday’s AAN reception. New AAN artist member salon will be featured in the upstairs gallery space. 3. Drug Take-Back Day

8:30 am – 1:00 pm @ Island Pharmacy

Keep kids and loved ones safe by bringing back unused medication to Island Pharmacy this Saturday, no questions asked. In the past this program has brought in over 100 controlled substances in one day – let’s beat that number this weekend. 4. S.T.A.R. Chopped

10:00 – 11:30 am @ Nantucket Culinary Center

Are you a star in the kitchen? Put your skills to the test at this Saturday’s S.T.A.R. Chopped class! Sessions focus on food prep, safe food handling, menu planning, and basic cooking. 5. Pumpkin Decorating and Scarecrow Building Day

6. Mindful Practices in Self Compassion with Teri Sica, LICSW

This event brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Self-Care Sunday.” Join Teri Sica for a workshop focusing on the benefits of mindfulness, including how to relax negative emotions, feel more alive, and live more authentically and joyfully. 7. Double Feature: John Stanton’s The Last Bay Scallop and Last Call
Monday, October 28
6:00 pm @ The Dreamland

You might want to grab two bags of popcorn for this special double feature. Featuring John Stanton’s The Last Bay Scallop about the fight to save the commercial bay scallop fishery, followed by a panel discussion with local fisherman Carl Sjolund, Town biologist Tara Anne Riley, and filmmaker John Stanton. The second film, Last Call, focuses on Bosun’s Locker and the changing scene of Nantucket’s downtown. The evening will end with an audience Q&A. For more information, click here

 

8. Spooky History Day

Nothing spooky about this fun afternoon at the Whaling Museum! Head to the Discovery Center to trick or treat, explore Halloween-themed interactives, and create a craft before and during the Halloween parade. For more information, click here

 

9. Annual Halloween Parade
Thursday, October 31
4:00 pm @ Main Street

Calling all ghosts and ghouls, Wonder Women and Super Men, this year’s Halloween parade is only days away! Stores all along Main Street will be handing out candy for trick or treating. 10. Epernay Wine Tasting
