You can’t understand someone’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes… So this weekend, men will walk a mile around town in women’s high-heeled shoes to raise awareness for violence against women. Each walker pays a $20 registration fee and raises at least $100, and all proceeds go to A Safe Place Nantucket. For more information and to register, click here.

Jam out for a cause! Head to the Chicken Box to hear a great show all while supporting MUSACK, an organization that helps connect children on Nantucket and in L.A. to music and music education. This special event will feature Mike Krol, Kimya Dawson and LAncE Mountain ACK, and all music will be inspired by “Johnny Physical Lives,” a documentary being screened at this weekend’s Nantucket Film Festival.
