1. Moby Dick Rehearsed

Have a whale of a time and see a Nantucket classic this weekend! John Shea will be putting on Moby Dick for the 9th year with the Nantucket Historical Association and the Theatre Workshop underneath the Whaling Museum’s giant whale skeleton. 2. Fireflies
Friday, August 23 – Saturday, September 14
7:30 pm @ White Heron Theatre

Grab your friends and head to the White Heron Theatre to see their production of Fireflies, a romantic comedy about a respected Texan dame and her complicated relationship with a drifter handyman. For tickets and more information, click here. 

 

3. Swim Across America
Saturday, August 24
6:30 am @ Jetties Beach

Since Nantucket’s first Swim Across America event in 1987, there have been more than 20 open water swims and over 100 pool events across the country. The charitable organization will take over Jetties Beach again this month, so grab your swim cap and goggles and swim across Nantucket to benefit cancer research! 4. Rafael Osona Auction

5. Book Signing with Jeanne Blasberg
Saturday, August 24
10:30 am – 12:00 pm @ Mitchell’s Book Corner

For novels steeped in tradition with twists and turns, head to Mitchell’s and grab The Nine and Eden by Jeanne Blasberg! Both of these beach reads include life-changing events that rock the characters and readers right out of their seats. 6. Sip & Script: A Modern Calligraphy Class

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm @ Nantucket Culinary Center

Sip & Script is returning to Nantucket for a fun afternoon of calligraphy, light appetizers, and drinks. This event is open to all levels, so don’t worry if you’re new to the quill. 7. Susan Burns’ Comedy Extravaganza

8. Mamma Mia Sing-A-Long!

9. Author Talk: Chris Tebbetts 
Wednesday, August 28
7:00 – 8:15 pm @ Nantucket Atheneum

Head over to the Atheneum to hear Chris Tebbetts read from his newest YA novel, Me, Myself & Him! Following the reading, Tebbetts will talk a little bit about his writing process and host a Q&A. This novel explores decision-making and how certain choices can shape a person’s life with two parallel plots about the same main character. For more information, click here.

 

10. Wines of the West Coast Tasting
Thursday, August 29
5:00 – 7:00 pm @ Epernay Wine & Spirits
