2. Celtics Basketball Clinic

1 P.M. @ Nantucket Boys & Girls Club
The Nantucket Boys & Girls Club will host a Boston Celtics basketball clinic, featuring a hall of fame player and Lucky the Leprechaun’s Dunk Show. While kids must be ages seven to fourteen to participate in the clinic, all members of the public are welcome to attend. Pre-register by calling 508-228-0158.
3. Race for Open Space 5K
Saturday, July 9
8 A.M. @ The Westmoor Club
Lace up your best pair of running shoes and set your stopwatches for your best race of the season! This race is organized by the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and all proceeds will go to the Foundation’s Land Fund. 4. AAN Art Auction and Gala

5:30 P.M. @ Great Harbor Yacht Club
The Artists Association of Nantucket’s annual benefit art auction and gala features works that have been donated, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery and the ANN Arts Program. This year’s Gala Honorary Artist Chair is William H. Welch, whose painting “Positively Pleasant Street” will be the final piece auctioned off at the event.
5. MMA’s Nantucket Red-Tie Soirée

7 P.M. @ Sankaty Head Golf Club
Put on your finest Nantucket red attire and join the Maria Mitchell Association for an evening of fun at Sankaty Head Golf Club. Enjoy Spanky’s Raw Bar, the chance to bid on unique experiences and items at a silent auction, and see demonstrations by the MMA, Nantucket’s Science Center. 6. Blessing Offor Concert

Are you a fan of NBC’s hit show, The Voice? Join The Voice’s former contestant Blessing Offor at the Summer House lounge in ‘Sconset. Get there early and enjoy a rosé tasting with Chateau D’esclans and finish off the night with Offor’s special performance. Tickets to the show are free, but reserve a spot for the tasting here.
7. Fashion Workshop

Are you a fashionista who has always want to learn the ins and outs of sketching fashion design? Attend this creative workshop and develop your own designs while learning from Steven Faerm, Associate Professor at Parsons The New School for Design. Open anyone age 14 and up, this workshop is free but attendees must pre-register here.
8. Hospital Thrift Fashion Show

5 P.M. @ 8 Juniper Hill Road
Before hitting the racks at the Hospital Thrift Shop, island ladies will walk the catwalk in their favorite pieces, all of which will subsequently be donated to the HTS. The show will be emceed by Lulu Powers, contributing editor for House Beautiful magazine. The event is sold out, but you can call 508-825-8250 to get on the waitlist.
9. Nantucket Comedy Festival

The Dreamland & The Nantucket VFW
Get ready to laugh out loud for four days straight at Nantucket’s own Comedy Festival. Start off the weekend with Nantucket’s young talent performing their own stand up routines. Thursday highlights a new “ladies only” lunch with comedienne Karen Mills. 10. Small Friends on Nantucket Art & Artisan Show Preview Party

Celebrating its twenty-fifth year, Small Friends on Nantucket will host the Nantucket Art & Artisan Show, featuring over sixty-five local and nationally recognized artisans. The event showcases handmade pottery, jewelry, folk art, textiles, furniture and more.
