3. Race for Open Space: The Jog in the Bog

Kick off the weekend with a walk, jog or run through the Nantucket Conservation Foundation’s Milestone Cranberry Bog for the foundation’s annual Race for Open Space event. The 5k race or 2 mile walk attracts athletes of all levels in effort to raise money for the Foundation’s Land Fund, which preserves and protects the island’s invaluable open spaces. 4. Artists Association Auction & Gala

5 P.M. @ Great Harbor Yacht Club

Join the Artists Association of Nantucket for a night under the stars at the 22nd annual AAN Auction & Gala hosted at the Great Harbor Yacht Club. Sixty pieces by AAN member artists will be auctioned off to benefit the Cecilia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery and the ANN Arts Program. In addition to music by Bob Lehman, dancing, and dinner, the tent will be decorated to resemble the ever-changing cloudscapes that are portrayed in the work of beloved Nantucket artist and guest of honor, Ken Layman. 5. Opening Night: Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia, here we go again! The Theatre Workshop is changing sets to perform the internationally loved, Tony-nominated musical “Mamma Mia” now through August.
