1. 10×10 Open Exhibition Reception

View the presentation of a new dimension at the Artists Association’s 13th annual 10 x 10 Open Exhibition hosted by the Cecelia Joyce and Seward Johnson Gallery. Open to all members of the Nantucket community, the display will feature paintings, photography, and mixed media with a Solo Show Spotlight exhibition by Susan Coyne.




2. Opening Night: Constellations

7:30 P.M. @ White Heron Theatre

This fall, watch as science and romance collide in White Heron’s showing of Constellations by Nick Payne. Follow the unusual love story that unfolds across time and space, with each variation sending the relationship on an entirely new trajectory. 3. Holidays for Heroes Gala
Saturday, September 9
5 P.M. @ Boys & Girls Club

Finish up the summer with Nantucket Holidays for Heroes in celebrating our Nation’s veterans at the annual American Dream Tribute & Gala. In addition to two guest speakers, retired Marines Jacob Schick and BJ Ganem, the evening will consist of live entertainment by a band comprised of veterans, an exciting live auction, and a delicious dinner. 4. Lifesavers Recognition Day
Monday, September 11
5:30 – 7:30 P.M. @ Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum

Save yourself a seat to honor those who have saved lives as The Egan Maritime Institute and Nantucket Cottage Hospital come together to recognize modern-day heroes at the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum. 6. May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers

8. Why the World Needs the Paris Climate Agreement

Things are heating up at the Atheneum this Wednesday with Dr. Philip Duffy, a Woods Hole physicist dedicated to addressing climate change in response to the Paris Climate Agreement. As former White House Senior Advisor to the U.S. Global Change Research Program, Duffy will make a compelling case for the need to increase scientific research in order to conserve and preserve our world.




9. Harbor Tour & Oyster Farm Visit

Discover the raw beauty of head of the harbor with the Nantucket Land Council for their final oyster farm tour of the season.
