1. That One Eyed Kid at Cisco Brewers

Groove on over to Cisco Brewers this weekend to hear That One Eyed Kid (aka Josh Friedman) croon all afternoon. The Boston-based singer songwriter is known for his skill at layering acoustic and electronic instruments, as well as having quite a set of pipes.  If you head out on Sunday, remember to wear your patriotic best to honor Veterans Day. 2. Sunday Suppers at Ventuno

Get out your translator and take-off for Tuscany this weekend at Ventuno. As part of their Sunday Supper series, the favorite Italian eatery will be featuring fettuccini ai fegatini, cacciucco, ribollita, and torta co’bischeri (or in English, the makings of an incredible Italian supper). Wash down the 4-course meal with a special $40 bottle of Marchesi di Barolo Barbera, and have yourself a feast. The whole delicious dinner is only $35, and seating is limited, so get there early. 3. Empty Bowls

Help fight hunger and take home a beautiful piece of pottery at this year’s Empty Bowls event. Hosted by the Artists Association of Nantucket, this special evening is part of the Empty Bowls Project, an international initiative aimed at helping to end hunger on a local level. No entry fee is required, but 200 pottery bowls will be available for purchase, and buyers will then have their bowl filled with a choice of delicious soups prepared by Bartlett’s Farm. All proceeds will go to the Nantucket Food Pantry and the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach. For more information, click here

5. Film for Thought – Garry Winogrand: All Things Are Photographable

Before the days of iPhones and documenting every moment of our lives, Photographer Garry Winogrand took pictures of mundane things before it was cool to do so. This documentary takes a look at the life of the compulsive street photographer and his career between the 1950s and 1980s.
