1. Cumberland Farms Fundraiser for Officer Sean Gannon Memorial Fund
Friday, May 4
All day @ Cumberland Farms (30 Sparks Avenue, 115 Orange Street)

In honor of the late officer Sean Gannon of the Yarmouth Police Department, Cumberland Farms is donating 20 cents of every hot and iced coffee and Chill Zone beverage purchased on Friday from all 21 of their Cape and Islands locations to the Officer Sean Gannon Memorial Fund via the Yarmouth Police Foundation. 2. Poetry in Motion
Friday, May 4
6:30 pm @ White Heron Theatre Company

Enjoy an evening of art, theater, and movement in collaboration with Art Week. Tickets are pay-as-you-will, with suggestions ranging from $5 to $20. All ticket sales will support the Poetry in Motion program. This program is presented in partnership between White Heron’s Nantucket Theatre Institute (NTI) and Nantucket Ballet. 3. Afterhouse Reopening

5:30 pm to close @ Afterhouse

4. Clean Team
Saturday, May 5
8:00 – 9:00 am @ Jetties Beach

Join Bill Connell, Rob McNeil and the Department of Public Works for the 15th Season of the Clean Team to keep our Island’s shorelines and roadsides free of litter. This important act for our community happens every Saturday at a different location on the island, so throw on your work clothes and meet us in the parking lot! For more information, click here

 

5. Springfest: Celebrate Earth
Saturday, May 5
11:00 am – 2:00 pm @ The Sustainable Nantucket Community Farm

Come enjoy this free family event with seed swaps, children’s activities, education about keeping chickens and bees, and more. There are 3 workshops offered throughout the day: 11:00am – Natural Lawn Care, Edible Landscapes and Meadow Restoration, 12:00pm – Building Good Soil and Composting, and 1:00pm – Wild Plant Walk. 6. Nantuckey Derby
Saturday, May 5
5:00 pm – 7:00pm @ The White Elephant Village Ballroom

Join the #ACKpartyhosts blACKbook and David M. Handy Events for their first community fundraiser of the season. The second annual Nantuckey Derby benefits Small Friends, and will feature betting booths, floral bars, mint julep stations, costume contests, and more. 7. Nantucket S.T.A.R. Fiesta
Saturday, May 5
7:00 – 10:00 pm @ The Chicken Box

Star this event on your calendar! Nantucket S.T.A.R.’s annual fundraiser event at The Chicken Box is going to be a good one. Featuring a silent auction, a raffle, and terrific company, this party celebrates 15 years of serving children with special and unique needs on Nantucket. 8. Cisco De Mayo

9. Cinco De Mayo Party with DJ Haf Def

10:00 pm – 1:00 am @ Atlas

Get your dancing shoes on and your festive outfits out – this is going to be 2 Part Disco, 1 Part House, a Dash of African Rhythm, and a Latin Twist. 10. CRU Reopening

The hottest restaurant on the harbor is reopening for the 2018 season on Thursday, May 10 at 5:00pm.
