Shop local this weekend and support our island small businesses. Town will be bustling as Nantucket Chamber shops give out double red tickets (and some refreshments!), so grab your Christmas gift list and hit the cobblestones.




2. December Delight
Saturday, December 9
9 A.M. – 3 P.M. @ Nantucket High School

Join Nantucket High School and all your favorite local artisans for the hotly-anticipated annual December Delight shopping collective. Enjoy treats, games, and lots of gifts for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Proceeds with go to benefit the NHS senior class.




3. Yuletide Fair
Saturday, December 9
10 A.M. – 2 P.M. @ White Elephant Village

The Nantucket Lighthouse Schools’ annual Yuletide Fair will feature beautifully handcrafted gifts, delicious lunch and baked goods, crafting activities for young and old, live entertainment and more. This event is free and open to the community and proceeds go to benefit Nantucket Lighthouse School.




4. The Mighty Pines
Saturday, December 9 + Sunday, December 10
4 P.M. + 3 P.M. @ Cisco Brewers

St. Louis-based band The Mighty Pines will be bringing their bluegrass meets rock soul sound to the shores of Nantucket for special performances at Cisco. So bundle up, grab an IPA, and let this quartet of rockers play you through the weekend.




5. Bulgarian Christmas Show
Saturday, December 9
4:30 P.M. @ The Atheneum

Celebrate the Bulgarian Education Center’s annual Christmas Show and get a taste of true Bulgarian culture. Enjoy holiday-themed dances, songs, and other entertainment, along with traditional Bulgarian cuisine prepared by our local Bulgarian community. Admission is free.





6. A Night of Holiday Magic
Saturday, December 9
5 – 8 P.M. @ The Whaling Museum

There’s no better space to celebrate the holidays than amongst the NHA’s stunning Festival of Trees décor. Join our friends at the Nantucket Whaling Museum for a fun evening of holiday carols, make-your-own-ornaments, seasonal treats and more. This event is free for all children and members, and only $5 for nonmember adults.





7. NMC Community Chorus Holiday Concert
Sunday, December 10
4 P.M. @ First Congregational Church

Don’t miss an afternoon of beautiful music in one of Nantucket’s most beautiful spots! The Nantucket Community Music Center will present a choral concert spanning centuries of holiday tunes and a few traditional carols. Tickets are free to members and a suggested donation at the door for non-members.




8. Classic Christmas Film Series: White Christmas
Tuesday, December 12
7 P.M. @ The Atheneum

Join Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney as they head to Vermont for a holiday performance extravaganza full of Irving Berlin tunes and Christmas cheer. This holiday classic is a must-watch every year, so enjoy a free viewing at the Atheneum and get in the holiday spirit.



9. Film for Thought: Sweet Virginia
Wednesday, December 13
6:30 P.M. @ The Dreamland

Called “one of the year’s best thrillers” by Variety, this neo-noir meets Alaskan western follows a former rodeo champ who befriends a young man with a propensity for violence. Part “Fargo” and part “No Country for Old Men,” this indie is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat for the full 90 minutes. Tickets are available here.





10. Paint Nite
Thursday, December 14
7 P.M. @ The Nantucket Hotel

Grab your friends and make your way to the Nantucket Hotel for two lively hours of cocktails and creativity. Novice with little artistic talent? No problem! You’ll be guided through the evening and are sure to share a laugh or two with your fellow artists.
