1. Kids in the Kitchen Dinner

Join Nantucket’s youngest budding chefs for a dinner of their creation on Saturday night. This feast will be the culmination of a 3-day workshop hosted by Chef Greg focusing on culinary techniques, styles, and skills. 2. NYE Pre-Party

9:00 pm @ The Chicken Box

Who says you need to wait until December 31st to get in the New Years spirit? Kick things into gear ahead of time at the Chicken Box NYE Pre-Party. 3. Last Day for Festival of Trees
Monday, December 31
All Day @ The Whaling Museum

Log some time at the Whaling Museum to pine over the forest of fabulous trees before the festival closes New Year’s Eve! There are some can’t miss sparklers this season, and it’s a great way to get inspiration for next year. Tickets benefit the NHA. For more information, click here

 

4. New Year’s Eve with Billy Blackstone & Freeballin

Looking for a laid back way to start 2019, but you still want to hit the dance floor when the ball drops? Charlie Noble is hosting the perfect NYE party with performances from Billy Blackstone & Freeballin. No cover charge, no reservations, no ticket sales – just show up and be ready for a great time! 5. Anchors Away Ball Drop + Nautical New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance Party
Monday, December 31
5:00 pm – 12:00 am @ The Nantucket Hotel

Say ahoy to 2019 at the Nantucket Hotel for their New Year’s Eve Nautical Dinner and Dance Party. Drop anchor and come aboard for cocktails, an elegant clambake dinner, dancing, and tunes from saxophone player and DJ Matty B. 5:00pm ball drop for families – midnight for adults! 6. Free New Years Day Yoga
Tuesday, January 1
11:00 am – 12:15 pm @ Bartlett’s Farm

If one of your goals for 2018 was to get moving more often and up your mindfulness game, this is the best way to kick off 2019. 7. Paints and Pints

8. Wine & Whales Cheers to Charities Wine Tasting
Thursday, January 3
4:00 – 6:00 pm @ Epernay Wine & Spirits

Head to Epernay to have a whale-of-a-good-time at their monthly “Cheers to Charities” wine tasting event. A portion of this event’s tasting sales will benefit their partner charity Marine Mammal Alliance Nantucket. 9. New Hospital Open House
Saturday, January 5
12:00 – 2:00 pm @ The Cottage Hospital

After many months of building anticipation, the new Cottage Hospital is finally going to be open to the public! Stop by on January 5 for an open house for the entire community before the hospital opens for patient care on January 16th. Island Kitchen will be on-hand to provide refreshments, hot cocoa, and cookies (but not emergency medical support – they’ll leave that to the pros). For more information, click here

 

10. I’m Not Running: NT Live
Thursday, January 31
2:00 pm @ The Dreamland

Experience live theatre straight from London right here on the Rock! To close out February, the Dreamland will be presenting David Hare’s explosive new play about personal choices and their public consequences.
