2. AAN Sidewalk Art Show

Let the art come to you at the Artist Association of Nantucket’s second Sidewalk Art Show of the summer! Taking place in the heart of town, outside the Nantucket Atheneum, the show will feature art from over 20 of Nantucket’s very own artists — and you’ll have the chance to meet them there too! So stroll on by and take it all in!
3. Tim Russert Summer Groove
Saturday, August 15 || 6 P.M. || Nantucket Boys & Girls Club
In addition to being the main fundraiser for the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club, this year’s Tim Russert Summer Groove will show off the new B&GC building renovations! This evening of dancing, drinking, food and fun is one of our top events for the month of August, and we know you don’t want to miss it. 4. Philip Bloom Gallery & Tradewind Aviation Party

9. Other Desert Cities Opening Night

“Other Desert Cities,” the gripping drama by Jon Robin Baitz about a California family’s dark and secret past, will have you on your toes when it opens at the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket this week! Be sure to get your tickets soon (here) as this is a limited engagement. Bonus: this production stars Colleen Zenk, three-decade-long star of TV drama “As the World Turns”!
10. USA vs. Ireland Croquet Tournament
Thursday, August 20 – Sunday, August 23 || The Westmoor Club
The best in the United States will take on the best of Ireland — including the number one players from both countries! — over the course of four days at the beautiful Westmoor Club. The public is welcome to join in the fun and cheer on the Lords of Lawn Sport! Kicking off the tournament on Thursday will be best-of-three doubles games at 9 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. Guests should check in with the greeters at the entrance to the Club to receive their wrist band before proceeding to the lower croquet lawns behind the yellow clubhouse!
