Nantucket’s Annual Shamrock Run Back To In-Person

The 10th annual ShamRock Run will be held in-person on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. The ShamRock Run is a fundraiser for the Nantucket Island Safe Harbor for Animals (NISHA), the island’s animal shelter which aims to provide shelter and care for animals in need, and to promote animal welfare through humane education, outreach, and advocacy.

All runners and walkers are welcome to attend the event, which will start and finish at 5 Bartlett Farm Road (Cisco Brewery parking lot).  There will be two Little Leprechaun Leaps prior to the race. One will be for children 18 months to 4 years old while the second will be for children 5-12 years old.

Both races are free of charge and there will be a special appearance from NanPuppet’s at the finish line, NISHA said. The ShamRock Run and walk will begin promptly at 11:00am, so NISHA is asking that people promptly arrive. There will be lite bites, music, and fun following the run at Cisco Brewery.

“We encourage you to dress up in festive attire, enjoy some fresh air and get moving for a good cause,” NISHA said. “Race swag and bib pick-up will take place on Friday, March 18th at the Haulover from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, March 19th at Cisco Brewery from 9:30-10:30 a.m.”

There will be no refunds. In the event of inclement weather the race may be postponed or cancelled, NISHA added. There will be no refunds in the event of a cancellation due to weather and fees will be considered a donation to NISHA.

“We encourage you to dress up in festive attire, enjoy some fresh air and get moving for a good cause,” they said. “Please remember to have fun, be safe and respect one another.”
