NANTUCKET CURRENT: THE SUMMER OF SELTZER

Written By: Chris Sleeper

There may be no better sound in the world than opening up a fresh can of spiked seltzer. The sound brings us right to Fisherman’s on a hot summer day, a beach cookout at 40th pole, and to the Great Point Rip during striper season. They’re the most refreshing summer beverage and they keep getting better.

Fresh Nantucket on Salem Street is taking advantage of the trend and adding a whole new line of seltzers and RTD (ready to drink) cocktails this season. Owner Charlie Merritt is excited about what he’s calling “the summer of seltzer.” Fresh will feature a selection of over 20 spiked seltzers and RTD cocktails this season. “Besides just the drinkable seltzer trend, RTD cocktails make bringing the bar anywhere easier than ever. If you’re packing a cup of ice and an RTD you’re pretty much set,” says Merritt, “Look out for some of my favorites; Crafthouse Cocktails, Ohza Mimosa, Vizzy, and Volley.”

Merritt’s beloved little sandwich shop with a big heart opens up tomorrow and will be bringing us the Fresh vibes right out of the gate. You’ll be able to grab your classics like The Caprese, The Smokey Yardbird, and The Capone in addition to their new expanded selection of smoothies, avocado toasts, and some new sweet merch. Merritt added “The super exciting news this year is that we’re adding a takeout window on Candle Street and by mid-June we’ll be handing you treats directly out of the window.”

Fresh will be open from 9am-6pm starting tomorrow, Thursday, May 6th and always available online. Head down to the deli or to freshnantucket.com for a sandy and a canned spritz, plus you can grab some of the new swag while it lasts.
