Two island institutions, the Atheneum and the NHA, are banding together for the annual community reading of Herman Melville’s classic novel, Moby Dick. This free event will span three days and two locations: Friday 12 – 6 P.M. at the Atheneum; Friday 6 – 10 P.M. at the Whaling Museum; Saturday 10 A.M. – 9 P.M. at the Atheneum; and Sunday 10 A.M. – 2 P.M. (or until finished) at the Atheneum.

Friday, October 21
5 – 7 P.M. @ Cecelia Joyce & Seward Johnson Gallery

Get yourself over to the Artists Association’s Washington Street gallery and put your vote in for your favorite exhibition piece while enjoying some delicious refreshments this Friday evening. With everything from ceramics and wood carvings to jewelry and watercolors, we have no doubt you’ll be able to find something to your liking.

3. PASCON Yoga Fundraiser

9:30 – 10:45 A.M. @ The White Elephant Ballroom

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, join local yoga instructor Caitlin Marcoux for a special donation-based yoga class to benefit Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket. Every $10 donation will be matched by Nantucket Island Resorts, so grab your mat and get ready to lift up and give back.

Saturday, October 22
10 A.M. – 12 P.M. @ Bartlett’s Farm

Purchase a pumpkin from Bartlett’s garden center and head over to the greenhouse for some good, old fashioned carving and painting fun. Tools will be provided and you won’t even have to clean up the mess! Keep the fall festivities going with a hay ride around the fields and we have no doubt you’ll be in the autumnal spirit.

Support the Montessori Children’s House of Nantucket at the second annual Harvest Dinner, hosted at The Westmoor Club’s Clubhouse, while enjoying a raw bar, open bar, delicious dinner and s’mores by the fire.
