6 – 9 P.M. @ Nantucket Yacht Club

A must-attend holiday event in our book, the Nantucket Lighthouse School’s Yuletide Preview Party is an evening of dancing and dining you won’t want to miss. Featuring live music by Buckle & Shake, as well as an art auction and raffle, attendees will be the first ones in to get a crack at the Yuletide Fair before the crowds descend on Saturday. Friday, December 9
6:30 P.M. @ The Atheneum

The most famous reindeer of all will be at the Atheneum for a special viewing of this holiday classic, as told and sung by the talented Burl Ives. This film is appropriate for children (and adults!) of all ages, so head on over and enjoy an evening of holiday cheer for the whole family.

3. December Delight

9 A.M. – 3 P.M. @ Nantucket High School

The senior class at Nantucket High School has been working away to organize the annual December Delight. So as you begin to purchase gifts for all the elves in your life, why not support local artisans and the NHS class of 2016 at the same time?

4. No Room at the Inn Creche Exhibit
Saturday, December 10
10 A.M. – 4 P.M. @ Methodist Church

Revel in the beauty and serenity of the holiday season at the Methodist Church’s crèche exhibit. While you view more than 250 nativity scenes displayed in the candlelit sanctuary, we have no doubt that you will feel the true meaning of Christmas and leave with a sense of love and calm.

Saturday, December 10
12 – 2 P.M. @ Épernay Wine & Spirits

As you make your way around town on Saturday for the Home for the Holidays shopping sales, meander over to North Beach Street for Épernay’s red wine tasting. You will likely leave with a bottle or two that will be a perfect hostess gift for your upcoming holiday party or just right for enjoying at home by the fire on a quiet night.

6. A Night of Holiday Magic
Saturday, December 10
5 – 8 P.M. @ Whaling Museum

Don’t miss this additional opportunity to enjoy the NHA’s Festival of Trees and be surrounded by the holiday spirit. This annual event will feature music and storytelling, refreshments and treats, and festive craft tables for the kids. Tickets are FREE for children and NHA members and just $5 for others.

5 P.M. @ The Dreamland

Do you enjoy delicious food and heartfelt memories? Join the Dreamland and Carole Murko for a screening of her “Heirloom Meals Christmas Special,” followed by a Q&A discussion and some delicious Heirloom Meals Egg Nog. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here or at the box office.

It may be December, but it will feel like summer on Saturday night at Atlas! This party will feature passed summer-inspired courses, Cisco brews and 888 cocktails, so throw on a t-shirt and shorts and get ready to dance the night away to Foggy Roots. Note that the party will open to non-diners at 10 P.M. for a $5 door cover.

Sunday, December 11
4 P.M. @ First Congregational Church

Beautiful music in one of Nantucket’s most beautiful spots… The Nantucket Community Music Center will present a choral concert featuring works by Mozart, Hans Leo Hassler, and more spanning centuries of holiday tunes and a few traditional carols. Tickets are a $10 suggested donation at the door.

Wednesday, December 14
5:30 P.M. @ The Atheneum

The Atheneum’s World Wide Voices Book Group meets September through May and is a welcoming and free space for discussion. This month’s meeting is a special poetry themed evening where attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite poem to read to the group.
