MOTHER’S DAY 2017 GIFT GUIDE

Let’s be real, Mom deserves the world. She is the first one you call in a crisis, the one who really understands you (and loves you warts and all), and if it were up to us, every day would be Mother’s Day. But since this special holiday only rolls around once a year, and since you can’t really package “the world,” we’ve narrowed down the gift possibilities to four of our favorite options out there this year.

If Mom is going to be on Nantucket this June, she’s going to need a ticket to one of 2017’s most hotly anticipated island events: The Blush Bash. Organized by two of Nantucket’s loveliest ladies, Elle Jarvis of Sideboard Small Batch Events and Tanya McDonough of The Club Car, this soirée will feature your favorite rosés on the market (including everyone’s favorite, Chateau d’Esclans’ Whispering Angel) raw bars galore courtesy of 167 Raw, live music from Nantucket’s own Foggy Roots and Boston-based synthpop band Bearstronaut, and much, much more. What’s not to love?

Mothers and daughters alike can agree that Milly & Grace is one of the treasures of the Nantucket boutique shop world. And while we are continually impressed with their selection of stylish dresses, comfy tops and the like, we are equally excited by their finely curated gift ideas. This Mother’s Day, why not let the Milly & Grace Girls put together a little trio of goodies like this rose & rosé-inspired story? For a Mom with a green thumb, the Vintage Roses coffee table book will surely brighten her day, as will these rosé infused gummies and John Robshaw for S’well water bottle.

She’s seen a lot of roses in her time. So why not put a fresh, pampering spin on the tradition? Our friends at Follain can’t get enough of Herbivore‘s Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish and we are keen to agree. This cult-hit product gently exfoliates to a buttery softness and has the purest, subtlest rose scent that only the real thing provides. So encourage Mom to light some candles and enjoy a nice, relaxing bath this Mother’s Day.

For the Mom who wants a little piece of Nantucket at home, we think Lauren Marttila Photography‘s “Tranquility” print is just the ticket. Because after all, every Mom deserves a little tranquility now and again. This local Nantucket photographer is also carried in island shops Milly & Grace and Bodega, so even if you can’t get a special order delivered in time, you can pop in in person and grab one of our other favorites like “Flock” or “Lineup.”
