Letter: Al Costa’s Parting Words As He Steps Down At Miacomet Golf

To the editor:

I know most of you have heard that I have decided to sell NGM Inc. and relinquish my position as President and Owner of NGM effective January 1st, 2022. I want you to hear firsthand from me that I will miss being here daily working with my colleagues and spending time with you members. I’m proud to say we all worked together to make Miacomet the great facility that it is today.

Al Costa

Going forward I will remain as a consultant to the new owner of NGM Inc., Matthew Galvin of Morningstar Golf and Hospitality. Sean Oberly will take over as General Manager of both facilities. Ryan Scotto will be our Superintendent with Brian Conlon as his Assistant Superintendent.

Matt has been a long-time friend and business associate and I’m confident he and his company will become a great asset to the Miacomet and Sconset team. I have the utmost confidence in Sean and the employees of Miacomet and Sconset and I’m sure they will continue the tradition of great customer service. I doubt they will require much in the way of advice, but they all know I will only be a phone call away if I’m not here at the facility.

I am looking forward to my life of leisure with my wife Kathy, but of course I’m saddened by the thought of not seeing all of you every day. Over the nearly 20 years of working at Miacomet I have learned something valuable from so many of you. Believe me this is not a trite generalization.

Because of your influence and support we were able to accomplish many projects and we all can take some credit for the facility being what it is today. Although I am leaving the organization, I’m taking your friendship with me. I will always be available on my cell phone 508-360-6204; please feel free to use it. Call me to say hello, seek advice or just to let me know how you are.

I will miss you all. Thank you for making my work at Miacomet at real pleasure.

Alan J. Costa
