Girls Swim & Dive Wins Seventh Consecutive League Title, Boys Place Second

The girls swim & dive team won their seventh consecutive Cape & Islands League Championship on Saturday, while the boys placed second behind Martha’s Vineyard. The victory for the girls is the 10th in program history.

A notable accomplishment was Maddie Bartleman breaking the school record in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.40. The previous record was set by Ainsley Ellis in February of 2008.

New postseason sectional cuts include Sara Dussault in the 200 individual medley (2:25.81); Macy Crowell in the 50 yard freestyle (26.88); Sarah Hanlon in the 50 yard freestyle (26.98); Emily Dussault in the 100 yard butterfly (1:05.59); Martina Savova in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.37); and Anabelle Betar in the 100 yard freestyle (59.24).

New postseason state cut times include Emily Dussault in the 200 yard individual medley (2:20.97); Hannah Gerardi in the 200 yard individual medley (2:21.93); Sam Wisentaner in the 50 yard freestyle (26.25) and the 100 yard freestyle (57.28); and Macy Crowell in the 100 yard freestyle (57.44).

Hunter Gross placed first in the league championship while Alexis Connole placed fifth in the girls end of things.

The sectional meets will be held on February 12 and February 13 while the state meets will be held on February 19 and February 20. Check back in with the Current for updates.
