Emma Davis Commits To Sacred Heart’s Div. I Swim & Dive Program

Nantucket senior Emma Davis signed her letter of intent Wednesday morning and has committed to Sacred Heart University, where she will be joining their Division I swim & dive program.

“I am super excited for this opportunity,” Davis said. “It is nice now because the whole recruiting process was very stressful and obviously all the years of hard work. I owe a big thanks to all my coaches, family, and friends. It is nice to now be able to say that I have kind of made it. I have put in all the hard work and it has really paid off. I am really excited for what is to come.”

Davis has had a stellar career for the Nantucket High School swim team and will be anchoring the girl’s swim team this year once again. Davis also swims for the Nantucket Swimming club team year-round, which played a key role in her development into a Div. I swimmer.

Davis said she is very excited for the upcoming season. Last year’s season was solely remote meets, but this year Nantucket swimmers will be in the same pool as their opposition, which should create for some thrilling finishes and an uptick in the competitive nature of the meets.

“I am so excited for this season and to be back to somewhat normal meets,” Davis said. “I am excited to compete with my teammates because I have been swimming with these kids since I was in first grade. So it is going to be awesome to have one last season together.”

Davis said that she considered other colleges but knew Sacred Heart was meant for her after visiting the school.

“Once I found Sacred Heart and spoke to Coach John Spadafina I kind of knew,” she said. “He is such a nice person. He is so awesome and the program is so great. Once I went to the school I loved it. The girls on the team are so great and it is a great feeling.”
